100days of learning CyberSecurity

In this section of my blog, I want to document my journey in learning more topics about cyber security. When I started with my web development career. This is one of the things that I am really concerned about, especially if I’m planning to move forward to building projects for clients.

I want to ensure that my clients will be having peace of mind that the projects that they want me to build will be secure enough from possible atrocious elements in the world wide web. This is why I wanted to learn more about cyber security.

I also wanted to do some freelancing work in bug bounty, this is the reason I would want to start writing more articles and content that is related to cyber security. I want to study and research on the different vulnerabilities and the risks involved in cyber security and the impact that it can have to a business owner or to an individual.Knowing that their is a growing number of cyber threats to not only business entities but also to individuals that can become susceptible targets of cyber criminals.

As a future aspiring web developer, when we try to develop our sites, apps, and projects for clients. We want to ensure that security is one of our main priority.

As a certified safety officer, I would want to relate cyber security to our concept in safety that prevention is better than cure. In safety, one of my job is to find hazards or vulnerabilities in the work place so that I can go and recommend evidence based safety policies to the business owner.

One of our main goal in safety is to ensure that we will be able to implement control measures that are really needed for the business operation to operate and make a profit without sacrificing the safety of our employees.

I can relate cyber security to safety because we would want to ensure that business operation will proceed while at the same time making sure that our policies and procedures are based from evidence based research that will help ensure the security of the companies confidential information without sacrificing the efficiency of the work process in the business operation so that the company can go and continue with their daily operation.

Identifying the risk involved and then classifying the effects of such risks and possible impact of the hazard (in safety we create a job hazard analysis to identify the necessary control measures we need to implement to prevent accidents from happening in the workplace – in cyber security the same approach applies when we try to look for vulnerabilities that can be exploited by criminal entities in the web such as black hat hackers) to the business.
